OSSLT Prep Program
Published on Feb 21, 2018 10:51

Dear Parent or Guardian,

On April 10, 2018, Grade 10 students across the province will be writing the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT). The Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) measures whether or not students are meeting the minimum standard for literacy across all subjects up to the end of Grade 9. Successful completion of the literacy test is one of the requirements to earn an Ontario Secondary School Diploma.

Jean Vanier will be offering an After-School OSSLT Prep Program which will help students prepare for the OSSLT. The program will run Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. Each session will be 60 minutes in length and begin at 3:15 in Rm 161. The first session will be on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. The session will run for three weeks ending Thursday, April 5, 2018.

This program is available for ALL students in Grade 10 and any students who were unsuccessful on the test last year. Transportation is not available. Therefore, participating students who live outside of Collingwood will need to make travel arrangements. Light refreshments will be provided during the session.

If you would like your child to participate in the program please email Mrs. Flynn at [email protected], or, complete and return the form at the bottom to the main office. In order for the program to run, fifteen students must be enrolled.
